Ana Carrasco back on track and “bike ready”

Five months after a training accident that resulted in a double vertebrae fracture, the former World SSP300 Champion is set to be back on her race bike and preparing for the 2021 season.

The 23 year old Spanish rider has applied herself to her recovery plan in the same way that she approaches her racing - with full commitment. Carrasco has returned and is ready to ride in an astonishingly short time frame such is her desire to be prepared for the season opening round of the World SSP300 Championship currently set for mid Spring due to the prevailing Covid situation.

Although not currently at the fitness level she had achieved before her crash, Ana has declared herself “bike ready” and has been dreaming of getting back on track and working towards this aim with a punishing remedial schedule carefully prepared by the medical consultants who have guided her on her path to recovery.

With such strong competition within her chosen class of racing – and new rivals joining the paddock each season – Ana knows that track time now is crucial. Her Provec Kawasaki Ninja 400 has been prepared in its pre-season livery while her crew are making ready to welcome her back to the pit box.

Ana commented:
“Of course I feel super happy to be back on the bike. In reality, five months has seemed like five years to me! I love riding, so to be back with my team is for me the perfect situation. I am motivated and happy.

I have been listening a lot to my doctor and now he says it is OK to ride. I am excited to be “bike ready” and to get back on my Ninja 400 for Winter testing.

Now it is time for me and my Ninja to get back into shape. I have a great team to support me and had so many good wishes from fans when I was recovering. My head is in a positive place and really soon I hope to be back to full riding fitness.”
